IONOS coupon code: $60 upfront, later pricing and cancellation
First-year prepaid subtotal: $60.
IONOS VPS Linux S+ · 12-month term · US data center. State and local taxes apply; the final payable total was not verified.
Introductory rate: $2/month for three months.
From month four: $6/month. The first year's remaining nine months are already included in the $60 prepaid subtotal.
Must you call to cancel? IONOS documents an online account route as well as phone cancellation. We read the instructions; we did not cancel a customer contract.

The $2 monthly headline is not a $2 first payment. In this cart, the introductory price appeared without entering a promo code, and the contract details required payment for 12 months in advance.
What did the IONOS cart actually show?
We followed the official US VPS page into the S+ configuration and shopping-cart overview. The selected setup was Linux, Alma 9 (latest), a US data center and a 12-month term. No order was placed.
| Field | Observed | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| Cart subtotal | $60 | 12 months billed in advance. Taxes are additional; this is not a verified final charge. |
| Introductory rate | $2/month for 3 months | Only the first three months use this rate. |
| Later rate | Then only $6/month | The rate after the three-month introduction; it does not create an extra month-four invoice for months already prepaid. |
| Minimum contract | 12 months | The discount lasts three months, while the commitment lasts a year. |
| Billing interval | 12 months in advance | The monthly price label does not mean monthly billing for this selection. |
| Renewal setting | Automatic | We did not observe a dated renewal invoice or a separately labeled second-year total. |
| Included operating system | Alma 9 (latest) | Shown as included. The cart had the base VPS and this OS line; no paid add-on was selected for this check. |

The first-year calculation
3 × $2 + 9 × $6 = $60. This is our arithmetic using the two displayed rates, and it matches the displayed subtotal. Dividing $60 by 12 gives a $5/month first-year average before taxes. The average is a calculation, not a separately offered monthly plan.
Do you need an IONOS coupon code for this price?
No code was needed to display this particular subtotal. The $60 cart was already present before any code entry. The cart also offered a promo-code field, but we did not enter or redeem a code. The existence of that field does not establish that an extra discount is available or that codes can be combined with the introductory price.
If you are searching for IONOS coupons, promo codes or discount codes, compare the same product and term in the final cart. A code for domains, email or shared hosting would need its own eligibility terms; the S+ evidence here does not establish those products' prices.
We have not verified a universal code, a renewal coupon or a claim that an offer link always beats a coupon. This is one observed US VPS purchase path, with an automatically displayed introductory price.
What happens after three months, and after one year?
Month four: the cart's later monthly rate is $6. For this annual prepaid selection, months four through twelve form part of the initial $60 subtotal. The three-month promotion is not a three-month contract.
After the initial year: the contract details say it renews automatically. At an unchanged $6/month, another 12 months would calculate to $72 before tax. That is a conditional estimate, not an observed renewal invoice or a guarantee of a future price. The cart did not separately label a second-year total or show the future renewal date.
For an existing subscription, use that contract's renewal notice and account details. This new-cart quote does not establish an older customer's rate, discount eligibility or cancellation deadline.
Does cancelling an IONOS subscription require a phone call?
The official help page provides both routes. Its account instructions explain how to select a contract in the subscriptions area, choose cancellation of the entire contract, supply the requested reason and date details, and confirm the consequences after backing up data. It says completion displays a cancellation date and sends an email confirmation. The same page also offers cancellation by phone.
That supports an online route in the published instructions. It does not prove that every region, legacy contract or account follows an identical flow. We did not sign in, disable renewal or cancel a live service.

Cancellation timing and the refund window
The official notice-period article says termination remains subject to the minimum term and agreed notice period. It does not give a specific number of notice days for this S+ quote. Check the cancellation date offered for your contract; do not assume that the end of the introductory rate ends the commitment.
The cart displayed a 30-day money-back guarantee. The help article makes use of that option conditional on the product offering it. No refund request was tested, and this page does not promise that every charge or optional product is refundable.
Notice-period article read October 7, 2026, 5:38:23 a.m. PDT (12:38:23 UTC).
Evidence and remaining gaps
This is a dated October 7 observation. No campaign end date appeared in the recorded cart, so we have not invented an expiry date. Prices and terms can change. Forum complaints informed the questions we checked; they are not evidence for the figures or policy statements above.
