Short answer: Namecheap’s public monthly coupon page currently describes its domain discount as registration and transfer. Namecheap’s renewal API can accept a promotion code, but that technical option does not establish a public renewal code that works for every account, extension, or checkout.

The official answer
Namecheap’s current monthly coupon page says its codes change each month and describes the published domain offer as discounted registration and transfer. It does not list domain renewal in that offer. Separately, Namecheap’s official renewal API documentation has an optional PromotionCode field. That proves a renewal order can technically accept a code; it does not prove that a public code is currently eligible for a particular consumer cart.

These are published US-dollar figures from Namecheap’s .com page, checked September 15, 2026. Registration, renewal, and transfer are separate rows. A registration or transfer promotion is not a renewal price.

Namecheap also says ICANN charges a mandatory annual USD 0.20 fee for each .com registration, renewal, or transfer. The page says premium domains may have prices different from the table.

What Namecheap says about renewal and refunds
Namecheap’s renewal instructions tell customers to select the exact domains and renewal term, review the cart, and separately consider Domain Privacy and PremiumDNS. Its refund policy says domain-renewal fees are generally non-refundable, while a renewal for most TLDs may be refundable at Namecheap’s sole discretion when a valid cancellation is processed within five days. The policy lists extensions for which renewal cancellation is unavailable.

- Open the Namecheap renewal cart for the exact domain and extension. Do not substitute the first-year registration or transfer amount.
- Compare the cart renewal amount with the current official renewal row for that extension and note any ICANN fee.
- If entering a code, check the final payable total after the code is applied. A field accepting a code is not evidence that the total changed.
- Check whether the domain is standard or premium and confirm the selected renewal term.
- Review Domain Privacy, PremiumDNS, taxes, and other cart items separately before payment.
