OVH promo code: check eligibility, commitment and renewal
An OVH promo code is worth using only when the final order shows a lower charge for your eligible product and account. Check the regional storefront, payment schedule, commitment and next renewal amount before paying. No universally valid code or successful redemption is verified in this guide.
Checked October 15, 2026. Historical customer examples below are self-reported; their private invoices and account settings have not been independently verified. They are not current offers or guaranteed billing outcomes.
When the discount is missing
Start with the product, regional storefront and whether you are buying a new service or renewing one. A discounted offer visible to another customer does not establish that your account qualifies.
A June 21, 2024 VPS Starter example shows why. One prospective buyer described approximately $0.97 per month for the first twelve months. A US customer could see only $4.20 and also had an existing account. Both location and account history differed, so that comparison cannot establish which condition prevented access to the cheaper offer.
Check those conditions separately. Creating another account does not establish eligibility.
A monthly payment can hide a longer decision
The same historical Starter offer produced conflicting explanations: one assumed the whole year had to be paid upfront; a buyer who had ordered it described selectable payment frequency and believed monthly payment retained the discount. Neither explanation establishes the terms of a current order.
Read discount duration, payment frequency and commitment length separately. Where a commitment applies, a monthly instalment does not by itself establish a monthly exit. Ask what remains payable if you stop using the server.
The US Bare Metal and Eco purchase flow changed
Effective August 26, 2025, OVHcloud US removed commitment selection for newly purchased Bare Metal and Eco servers. Its FAQ, updated February 12, 2026, lists monthly billing without a discount, or upfront payment for twelve or twenty-four months with the same 5% discount. This change does not establish the options for VPS, Public Cloud or other regional storefronts.
The older US commitment guide, updated June 16, 2025, describes longer commitments payable monthly. Do not use that older flow as instructions for every new purchase. The newer FAQ also gives conflicting answers about changing an existing commitment's duration; obtain confirmation for your service rather than assuming either answer applies.
Keeping a discount is not the same as keeping a bill
A dedicated-server example dated October 11, 2024 described an original six-month commitment at $89.62 per month. The extension displayed $119.49 per month for another six months while offering to retain the discount. Auto-renewal was already enabled. That did not answer which amount would be charged.
The higher figure was a reported quote, not a verified payment. The cause of the discrepancy remains unconfirmed.
Compare the original invoice with the renewal quote for the same server and options. Ask billing support to confirm the next charge and term, including whether the discount uses a revised base price or an introductory component has expired. An auto-renewal toggle cannot settle that price question.
Check the product and effective date of a price change
The US dedicated-server repricing notice applies new rates to existing subscriptions at renewal on or after October 1, 2026. Its scope is Advance Gen 2024/2026, Game Gen 2026, and Scale and High Grade Gen 2024/2026. Kimsufi, So You Start, Rise and generations before Gen 2024 are excluded from this specific change.
That notice cannot explain a price discrepancy from 2024, and it is not a brand-wide promise about future prices.
Longer prepayment needs a reason
A September 2026 customer example described choosing twelve months of prepayment to allow time to plan and carry out a migration. The aim was to create a transition window, even though the customer wanted to leave. It does not prove that prepayment guarantees a fixed price.
If twelve and twenty-four months offer the same percentage reduction, the longer option gives no additional percentage discount. Decide whether you need the server for that extra period. A migration deadline can matter more than the lowest advertised monthly equivalent.
Ask what a billing remedy actually means
A December 1, 2024 example involved an old RISE-SE-1 already replaced by another OVH server. Its renewal had been due on November 30. The customer described forgetting to disable auto-renewal and prepaying another twenty-four months, approximately €1,900, for a server no longer needed. A refund of the unused period was requested; a successful refund was not established.
Buying the replacement had not settled the old service's renewal. Before moving, confirm the end date and renewal status of each service separately.
The available historical remedy examples also involved different conditions: a refund for one accidentally renewed month without a commitment, and account credit after an approved upgrade. Neither establishes that a twenty-four-month prepaid renewal will receive a cash refund. These are individual outcomes, not a refund policy.
Ask billing support whether any proposed remedy means money returned, account credit, transferred service time or cancellation at term end. Keep its written decision with both service identifiers and the renewal invoice before including a refund or credit in your replacement budget.
